Gingerbread Syrup

The sweet and spicy gingerbread cookie that we all love during the Christmas season in a liquid syrup that you can add to your coffee, on pancakes or waffles, and/or dip biscuits or scones in. Now that the Harvest feasting is over it is now Gingerbread time. Gingerbread is a unique flavor in where it has a sweet, molasses flavor and hint of spice from the ginger which warms you up during the cold months. Growing up it was a tradition to build a gingerbread house around this time. We kind of turned it into competition who can build it the fastest and the best. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Gingerbread Syrup Time Prep: 2 minutes Cook: 30 minutes Ingredients 2 in piece Ginger root, peeled 2 cups Dark Brown Sugar 1 cup Granulated Sugar 2 Tablespoon Honey 2 1/2 cups Water 3 Cinnamon Sticks 1 teaspoon All Spice Berries 10 Whole Cloves 1/2 teaspoon Whole Peppercorns 1 teaspo

Hot Chocolate Cookies

T he warmth of a big mug of hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows and a little secret spice in a cookie form.  It is now the time of the year where I want to try hot chocolate because it is starting to feel like Winter. In my neck of the woods the highs been in the 60's and the lows in the 40's so that is my Autumn and the beginning of Winter. For me, I like my hot chocolate to be super chocolatey maybe a little spice like cinnamon with whipped cream and/or mini marshmallows, not too hot so it doesn't burn my tongue and made with milk not water like they say on the package. How do you like your hot chocolate? Let me know in the comments. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Hot Chocolate Cookies Time Prepping: 10 to 15 minutes Chilling: At least 2 hours or overnight Baking: 8 to 10 minutes Ingredients 1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter, melted and c

Slab Pumpkin Pie

One of the greatest pies of all time, pumpkin pie, in a sheet form that you will be able to eat for days after the big Harvest dinner. I love pumpkin pie like I've said in several of my other blog post. I could eat pumpkin pie or pumpkin spice anything 365 days out of the year. Its just the perfect kind of pie. Pumpkin pie happens to be my families favorite pie as well and we never have anything leftover from Harvest dinner and we don't have any left to eat with out left over ham or turkey. That is why this year I decided to make a slab pie. I have already made other pumpkin spice or pumpkin post in the last couple of months. You should go check this out. Spiced Cranberry Orange Doughnut Muffins

Cranberry and orange is always a great combination in my book and adding cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove and white pepper gives it a nice twist. When I see cranberry and orange anything together I think of the holidays like Christmas and Harvest time. While watching my favorite television network, Food Network, I got the idea for this recipe when they made a mulled wine. Mulled wine is made with dry red wine or non-alcoholic apple cider, cinnamon, ginger, orange, clove, nutmeg, pepper and cardamom. I took the spices like the ginger, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and pepper from that and created this recipe. I've made doughnut muffins in a previous post you should check it out. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Spiced Cranberry Orange Doughnut Muffins Time Prep: 10 to 15 minutes Chilling: 3 hours to overnight (I recommend overnight) Baking: 15 to 20 min

Marbled Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake

Two flavors of cheesecake, pumpkin spice and vanilla,  marbled together to give you this addictive dessert for your holiday feasting. Cheesecake has to be one of my favorite desserts out there. Its sweet, tangy, creamy and cold so it covers all kind of flavors that makes it so delicious. This is one of my families favorite desserts for me to bake during the holidays. They request that I make it, even my picky eating nephews love it. Adding pumpkin or pumpkin spice just gives it another level of flavor. Normally cheesecakes are made with plain graham cracker crust but I like to use Speculoos cookies or cinnamon graham crackers to give the crust an added flavor. This is one of the many pumpkin spice recipes that I have made, here are the links to the other recipes: Mini Pumpkin Hand Pies , Pumpkin Spice Cookie Cake , Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Pop Tarts , Pumpkin Spice Sugar Cookies , Pumpkin Spice Pound Cake , Slow Cooker Pumpkin Butter , Pu

Mini Pumpkin Hand Pies

A portable, handheld pie filled with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, all spice, and ginger in a flaky all butter crust. I was inspired to make these handheld pies from a local company, Hubig's Pies, that have been around since 1922 and are filled with fruit. You can get them all over the place where I live. Thanksgiving or Harvest Feast is only few weeks away and one of the dessert stables for those carb loaded feasts in pumpkin pie. It happens to one of my favorite pies to eat. You get the buttery crust and the yummy pumpkin filling. Plus you get a serving a fruit. Pumpkin Spice season is slowly winding down and I've made a lot of recipes this season.
