Cold Brew Coffee

I have a confession to make, I LOVE COFFEE!

I was introduced to cold brew at my local Starbucks but it started to get expensive. It's like $4 to get a Venti and I would need to get maybe two or three them in one day because they dilute it and it wasn't strong enough for me. So I decided to start making my own at home.

Cold brew is smoother, less bitter and more flavorful then regular hot coffee.
It's really easy to make. Don't need a lot of items to make it.

I like the drink my daily 'cup' of coffee in a mason jar.

Items you will need
Whole Bean Coffee and a Coffee Grinder or Small Food Processor

I used a local brand that is a mixture of  medium and dark roast
.

Cheesecloth
It maybe $2 or $3 for a small pack.

Large Pitcher

Let's get started to make some coffee.
First measure out two cups of coffee beans to a course ground.

Second cut around a six inch piece of cheesecloth then place a half of cup of grounds.  Tie the top of the cloth and place on the bottom of the pitcher.
Make four 1/2 cup bundles
Third pour seven cups of filtered water into the pitcher.

Fourth place in the refrigerator for at least 24hours

Filter the cold brew through a piece of cheesecloth and a mesh strainer so none of any loose coffee grounds get  into your finished coffee.

Makes enough for 4 to 6 cups of coffee.  Stays fresh up to 2 to 3 days.

  1. Your right! Starbucks is ridiculously expensive and usually not worth its expensive price either. I do like the sound and concept of cold brew!
