Coffee Flavored Syrup

Where I live it has been raining for the last week but it feels like it had been raining for the last month and can't really go to the store to get the ingredients of a few recipes that I wanted to post.  So I went to my kitchen and searched for items that I could create something delicious.  I have coffee beans, sugar and vanilla extract.
Eureka! I can make a coffee syrup that I have been seeing on the internet from Trader Joe's.  I don't have a Trader Joe's that close to me so I have to make due by making it myself.

Strong brewed coffee: You brew like your normal cup of coffee but 3:1 ratio for ground coffee and water which gives it a stronger flavour and necessarily caffeine.

How to make it:
1/2 cup of ground coffee, any kind you have I used medium roast
2 1/2 cups of water

Brew it in your coffee maker as usual. When it brews it will equal out to be 1 1/2 to 2 cups of coffee but you will only need 1 1/2 cups of it.  You will not need it to cool before using.

Tools:
Funnel
Mason jar

Yields: 2 cups
Recipe
1 cup of Dark Brown Sugar
1 cup of Pure Cane Sugar (It will have a golden hue rather than pure white)
1 1/2 cups of Strong Brewed Coffee
1 tablespoon of Vanilla Extract
Heavy pinch of Sea Salt

Combine dark brown sugar, pure cane sugar, strong brewed coffee and sea salt.
Bring it to a roaring boil then add it vanilla.
Let it boil for 10 minutes then reduce to low to simmer for another 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let it cool completely before transferring it into a mason jar.
Store in the refrigerator. Pour it in a glass of milk for coffee milk, over ice cream, pancakes, waffles or French toast.
Add 2 to 3 tablespoons in your milk.

  1. after reading the first paragraph, I was like, those are the only ingredients you really need in life, right? Hahaha. This recipe is super similar to making kahlua, except that you add vodka too.
